SiliCue Advanced

A separate SiliCue experience that explains deeper system signals and manages supported hardware controls within strict safety boundaries.

Why a separate edition?

The App Store edition uses documented, store-compatible interfaces inside the macOS App Sandbox. Advanced uses a separate app identity and update channel for an explicitly authorized local helper, deeper diagnostics, and model-compatible controls.

Advanced capabilities

Advanced sensor telemetrySupported temperature, power, and fan-speed signals. Unsupported values are never guessed.
Safe Fan BoostTime-limited control, thermal stop conditions, and automatic return to macOS control on sleep or shutdown.
Deep process diagnosticsUser-started checks for more detailed process and system behavior.
Advanced network toolsPing, route, and reachability diagnostics without unrequested background scanning.

Protection architecture

  1. A separate app identity, feature boundaries, and local data area from the App Store package.
  2. A narrowly scoped helper that accepts only permitted hardware operations.
  3. Supported Mac model, macOS version, and safe-return checks.
  4. Apple Developer ID signing, Hardened Runtime, and Apple notarization.
  5. SHA‑256 file integrity and a signed SiliCue update channel.

Compatibility policy

Fan control and private-sensor support appear only when the verified Mac model and macOS version match. SiliCue shows an unavailable state instead of a fabricated zero for an unsupported signal.

Security policy

  • Permission is requested only after the user starts the corresponding Advanced feature.
  • The helper cannot run arbitrary commands; it accepts only narrow, validated operations.
  • Fan control never runs without a time limit.
  • App exit, sleep, error, or timeout triggers a return to macOS management.
  • Health measurements stay on the device by default.

Distribution and verification

SiliCue Advanced is offered only through silicue.com. Every package can be verified with its Apple signature, notarization, and SHA‑256 digest; updates come only through the signed SiliCue channel.
